Katie Oberman

Student Engagement Intern and ISC Chair

Katie is currently developing the Inter-Sustainability Council (ISC), an effort to unite UC San Diego organizations and departments that promote environmental sustainability and social justice and create a coalition that further educates and engages the campus community.

The ISC is relatively young but has over 20 member organizations and continues to grow. The ISC hosts biweekly meetings with member organizations, quarterly mixers and annual events,  such as Green TalksResearch Symposium and Earth Plaza Palooza. If you would like to get involved with the Inter-Sustainability Council, contact Katie.

Katie is a fourth-year Sociology major and double minor in Mathematics and Education Studies. She is a past Co-Chair of Ellie’s Garden in Eleanor Roosevelt College and also works as a student leader in many other ERC organizations and efforts.

Aside from school, Katie is a San Diego native and enjoys reading, hiking and working with children. She is currently a Sunday school teacher at Congregation Beth El and hopes to become an elementary school teacher after college.
