Sustainability Program Office

The Sustainability Program Office (SPO) is located inside the Sustainability Resource Center in Price Center West. In partnership with the Student Sustainability Collective, the SPO works to support the efforts of the Sustainability Resource Center.

SPO functions include:

Sustainability Program Office
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for Sustainability 2.0 initiatives
  • Getting involved in campus sustainability projects
  • Coordinating and tracking the progress of campus goals
  • Facilitating partnerships, collaboration and participation
  • Fostering a culture of sustainability
  • Conducting outreach and marketing efforts and managing events

The SPO engages individuals and groups in campus sustainability initiatives and encourages stewardship and sustainable behavior beyond UC San Diego. The competitive advantage of this program is its unique capabilities for streamlining efforts and maintaining one point of contact for all campus sustainability related topics.

Although other campus groups focus on specific aspects of sustainability, the sustainability program partners with students, faculty, staff, administration, operations, businesses, government and others to achieve the campus’s sustainability goals.
