UC Carbon Neutrality Initiative Engagement Fellow
Lorraine Lopez is a UC Carbon Neutrality Initiative Engagement Fellow. Her fellowship focuses on collaborating with the UC-wide Faculty Engagement & Education Working Group of the UC Global Climate Leadership Council.
The goal of Lorraine’s project is to collaborate with faculty and other leaders from across the UC system to develop broad faculty support and participation in UC’s 2025 carbon neutrality goal and to advance UC leadership in climate change and sustainability education.
Lorraine has always supported sustainability. Her interests vary from going green, by recycling through reducing, reusing and repurposing, to creating sustainable policies for preserving future resources, including the promotion of sound fiscal policies to ensure future financial stability. She hopes to engage others to take action in the common care of their home, the earth.
Lorraine is a senior Political Science major with a Business minor. She wants to further her understanding of politics, economics and diverse cultural differences. Through her personal experience, she understands that the only way to change your future is to be a part of the change you want to see.
