Carbon Neutrality Initiative Student Engagement Fellow
Lesly Figueroa is a UC Carbon Neutrality Initiative Student Engagement Fellow focused on engaging UC San Diego students in understanding and helping the campus meet its carbon neutrality goals. Among other work, Lesly developed the Sustainability Ambassadors Program to educate and engage UC San Diego students through peer education and programming to raise awareness and incorporate culture, art, politics and social justice into all disciplines within sustainability education.
Lesly is currently a third-year Urban Studies & Planning and Global Health double major and an Environmental Studies minor. She is the student lead at the UC San Diego Triton Food Pantry and the Associate Vice President of Environmental Justice Affairs at the UC San Diego Associated Students. She is a Resident Assistant (RA) at The Village and a discussion leader for the First Year Experience program. She has also been involved with Muir College Council and many committees on campus regarding campus life and sustainability.
